Daly’s Constructions (Australia) Pty Ltd have recently been awarded a 66 kV cable installation project within Melbourne’s CBD. This is a Citipower/Powercor project and involves the installation of a new underground circuit within conduits for approximately 3.3 kilometers. This is a turnkey project requiring system design, route selection, procurement, installation and termination works.

Challicum Hills Wind Farm, Ararat Victoria
Daly’s Constructions (Australia) Pty Ltd recently completed a major cabling project for Alstom Australia Limited in Ararat, Victoria. This project required open trenching for approximately fourteen kilometres predominantly through rock. A HV cable, fibre optic and earth cable were direct buried linking individual turbines to the main switch room. Cables were bedded in sand and protected with slabs and marker tape. Our cable jointers performed all HV indoor terminations and straight joints
Docklands Electrical & Communications Infrastructure, Melbourne Victoria
Daly’s Constructions (Australia) Pty Ltd in 1999 were awarded a multi-million dollar contract from the Powercor/Transfield Consortium for the installation of electrical and communication conduits and associated hauling pits for a route length of approximately ten (10) kilometers. High and low voltage cable hauling was included in the contract with one of the cable hauls being 1250 meters and included two (2) ninety-degree sweeping bends.
Lawson Crescent, Thomastown 66kV circuit
Daly’s Constructions (Australia) Pty Ltd recently completed a 66kV cable installation project in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. This was an Agility project and it required the installation of a new underground circuit which was direct buried. This project also involved the performing of 2 CHP terminations. Scaffolds were erected and tarped with terminating works completed 4within two weeks. The cables were bedded with a thermal rated stabilised sand mix to ensure cable rating was achieved.
Basslink Terrestrial Interconnector Victoria
Daly’s Constructions (Australia) Pty Ltd are currently constructing the 400KV DC underground link in Gippsland Victoria. The project involves the installation of the main positive cable, negative cable and associated communications and thermal sensing cables. Stringent quality control methods are in place to ensure specifications are met and exceeded. Many new work methods and innovations are being introduced to counter manual handling issues associated with such large cables.
Shared Tunnel 132kV Installation, Sydney NSW
Daly?s Constructions (Australia) Pty Ltd recently completed a major project for Energy Australia in Sydney. The project required the installation of four separate 132kV circuits within a new tunnel from Haymarket Substation through individual hauling chambers to transition joint bays at road level. Assisted by four Caterpillars hydraulically linked and operated from a central designated location, the pulls were approximately 800 meters in length and cables were installed on rollers.
