The National Capital Authority are conducting a design competition to develop a design for the National Workers' Memorial. Arts and design professionals are invited to submit design proposals for this national memorial. An independent jury will award up to $40,000 to the winning entry and runners up. The winning competitor may be invited to enter into an appropriate agreement with the National Capital Authority, to progress the design development and implementation. The National Capital Authority will negotiate fees for the commission with the winning competitor/competitor team. Fees will generally reflect the classification of works, the professional duties and responsibilities of the competitor/competitor team and the procurement method. Fees will be derived from a percentage calculation of the cost of works to be constructed. Following the completion of the design, the National Capital Authority will be progressing the construction of the memorial design during 2012.
